The 19th edition of the International Air & Space Fair FIDAE will be held from 29 March to 03 April, 2016 at the International Airport Arturo Merino Benitez in Santiago de Chile.

     In its more than 35 years of existence, FIDAE has become in the leading and the most complete aerospace, defence and security exhibition of the American continent, by being a real business platform and providing an effective access to the regional market.

     This has been achieved because FIDAE is an all-embracing fair covering fields such as Aircraft Maintenance, Airport Equipment and Services, Civil - Commercial Aviation, Defence, Homeland Security and Space Technology.

In 2014, with a final number of 604 exhibiting companies from 43 countries, 125 aircrafts displayed, 37 conferences performed, 268 national andinternational authorities, 172 top-level executives, 391 delegations, 263 trade guests, 938 registered from national and international media, and an attending public of 150,000, FIDAE ratified its position asthe main commercial platform of Latin America, where experts from sectors such as Civil Commercial Aviation, Airport Equipment & Services, Space Technology and Homeland Security gathered.

37 conferences were held, among them: “VIII Latin American and Caribbean Aviation Summit”, “Uses of Technologies for the Airport Processes Efficiency”, “Meeting of Logistics Commanders of the South American Air Forces” and the “II Space Conference”.

While growth in the defence sector has been moderately in Latin America during recent years, civil aviation has had an important increase (6.1% in January 2014).

It is expected that passenger traffic will rise 5% per year. This will certainly help to improve aircraft manufacturing through employing the most suitable materials, thus emphasizing the tendency towards the highest standards of quality, technology and energy efficiency.
