ILA, Berlin, 31.05.-05.06.2016 - www.ila-berlin.de
The ILA is synonymous with tradition and innovation. It is the longest-standing and most firmly established air show in the world following a long and diversified history since its successful debut in 1909.
As one of the leading trade fairs on the world calendar of aerospace events the show is celebrating its next edition from 31 May to 5 June 2016.
Nowadays ILA presents high technology from all business areas of the aerospace industry. With its clear segmental structure it represents the current market development: “Civil Aviation”, “Space”, “Defense and Security”, “Unmanned Aircraft Systems”, “Equipment, Engines and Materials” with the affiliated “International Suppliers Center ISC” and “Helicopter”. Alongside the high quality conference program with selected leading congresses will take place.
ILA 2014 was a major attraction for the public. 1,203 exhibitors from 40 countries displayed the industry’s entire range of current high-tech products and research and development projects. Exhibitor numbers were the second-highest in the 105-year history of the ILA. Some 227,000 trade visitors and members of the public flocked to the 250,000 square-meter venue, Berlin Expo Center Airport. At 120,000 the number of trade visitors remained at an extraordinary high level.
One of the main highlights was the Space Pavilion, which provided trade visitors and the public with graphic illustrations of the benefits that space research provides for mankind.
Senior buyers made advance bookings for over 1,000 meetings with customers at the International Suppliers Center (ISC), which proved an effective marketing platform for the entire supply industry. Several thousand experts attended more than 60 conferences where, over the course of the ILA they exchanged information on the latest developments in the aerospace industry. Individual segments and topics such as UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and ‘eco-efficient flight’ met with keen interest. Some 3,800 accredited members of the media from 55 countries covered ILA 2014.
During the air show some 300 aircraft of all sizes and categories were on display, on the ground and in the air.
Once again the ILA confirmed its outstanding position as a venue for presenting innovations and new technological concepts for civil aviation aimed at achieving sustainable development of the growing volume of air traffic while at the same time reducing noise levels and emissions.
Over 87 per cent of exhibitors were satisfied with their results at the event and more than 95 per cent of trade visitors had a positive overall opinion of ILA 2014.
